Southeast Therapeutic Consultants is a therapeutic and educational consulting practice located in the Asheville Area of Western North Carolina. With strong alliances in the therapeutic treatment and collegiate recovery communities, we serve as a guide in the field of behavioral health treatment, planning, education, and management. We help families facing the overwhelming complications involved in seeking treatment and looking for long term recovery. We support students with therapeutic and/or sobriety support needs when admitting to college for the first time or returning to campus after gap years or residential care.
We provide crisis intervention and treatment placement through a broad network of connections across the mental health and substance use recovery community. We help individuals suffering from conditions such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia or Schizoaffective Disorder, Personality Disorder, Major Depression & Anxiety, Non-Verbal Learning Disorder (NVLD), and other serious behavioral and emotional health conditions. We have strong collaborative alliances and our expertise goes toward helping families faced with the daunting complications involved in seeking appropriate care and getting sustainable positive results from treatment.
If your child is going to college with challenges that are concerning for you as a family or returning to college after a withdrawal or time away for professional therapeutic care. We work with colleges and programs all over the country while also located in an area known as a therapeutic hub with exceptional treatment and collegiate recovery resources. We can help you make a plan and serve as an advisor and coach for students stepping into collegiate life with therapeutic and/or academic support needs. Todd Weatherly, founder of Southeast Therapeutic Consultants, is a pioneer and leader with over 25 years of experience in the field of health and human services. He is passionate about building programs, creating community, and helping families; a career driven by his deep commitment to serving others. As a former treatment program Executive Director and CEO, he is a widely sought advisor throughout the treatment community. He has focused as a mental health and substance use treatment and program consultant for over a decade and is a Qualified Mental Health & Substance Abuse Professional (QMHP/QSAP). Jackie McHargue has served as the Dean of Students at the University of North Carolina Asheville for fourteen years and a member of the leadership team for the Division of Student Affairs. She has been part of the UNC System since 1997 and has worked in higher education for over 25 years. She has extensive experience in academic advising, behavioral intervention, threat assessment, addiction, recovery, interpersonal/family dynamics, and its intersection with the college experience. Our consultants are available for both long and short term case management for those in need of ongoing support. We work with individuals under guardianship or those with specialized trusts providing financial management. Our job is to advocate, coordinate care, and facilitate sustainable stability for the long term.
We offer a complimentary half-hour service to go over our process and how we work with families. After this initial consultation, we follow up with service recommendations that best suit the family's needs.
